Hi guys, I would like to ask if you didn't face the similar problem last few weeks when using Outlook 365 connecting to on-premise Exchange 2019. Office 365 does not have exchange online setup and there is not authorized domain, so there couldn't be any colision with on-premise exchange autodiscovery. Few users using Outlook 365 started reporting that their Outlook keeps asking for password and when I was remotely connected to those users, they used correct username and password in the prompt (so there is not any problem with DOMAIN\ or @domain.com username format). Their login to OWA works correctly so password is correct too. The worst is I cannot find any reason why it's still asking for password and in very random intervals. It’s also good to say that Outlook 2019 does not have such issue and all users with Outlook 2019 works correctly and problem is observed only on Outlook 365. Couldn't be there some incomaptible update in Outlook 365 inside, as our team didn't do any update to Exchange 2019 for more than 3 months including update, configuration change (except new users) and I'm 100% sure that exchange is not changed anyhow. Hi, Anti-malware engine updates have been failing since 12/7 with error 6035 - the testing phase. After trying several of the suggested fixes, it appears this is failing after the update is downloaded and before it updates the "bin" directory. This is occurring at two clients - one with a 2016 instance and one with a 2019 instance. I have found other people posting the issue on Serverfault, so it does not seem isolated to my clients...Solved25KViews1like19Commentshello darkness my old friend worrying emails in draft

Hi experts, I'm trying to complete the upgrade process from Exchange 2013(on-premise) to Exchange 2019(on-premise). I did all the steps that are explained in Best Practice for Upgrade and the Upgrade Assistant from Microsoft experts. Also, I'd like to thank you for them. But what is my question? There are 2 Exchange 2013 servers in my domain with more than 2000 users. I installed new Exchange servers and all work fine in the organization. Regarding our business, I can not take a risk and start mailbox migration directly and would like to test all things in the new environment first, like OWA, Outlook, and all related things to the new environment. I created some databases on the new servers and some users on them to test mail flow on these servers. The problem that I have is, that I can connect directly to new servers in OWA to newserver.mydomain.com and work with test users, and mail flow there works fine. But when I try to use Outlook to test, it can not find new servers. I think my issue is autodiscover record in DNS but I can not change it at the moment, because the old environment is working. When I change this record on the new servers to itself(newserver.mydomain.com) and try to configure a profile on Outlook manually and set the mail servers on the new server directly, Outlook still can not find the servers. What is your suggestion to have a test way in my case? I searched so many articles to find a way but it seems in this way, there is no solution. I don't want to create a new zone for the test, because in the External mail flow test, I will need an SSL certificate. I appreciate any help or ideas that you can provide. We have two Exchange 2019 Standard servers in a DAG and after updating from CU12 to CU14 one of those servers no longer logs PowerShell or ADDriver history. For example in the Application Log we see: Event ID 6003 Source MSExchange Common - RpsCmdletLogs: Failed to create the log directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\CmdletInfra\LocalPowerShell\Cmdlet because of the error: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\CmdletInfra' is denied.. Logs will not be generated until the problem is corrected. Event ID 6003 Source MSExchange Common - ADDriver: Failed to create the log directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\ADDriver because of the error: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\ADDriver' is denied.. Logs will not be generated until the problem is corrected. These events do not appear on our second Exchange server. The issue is with the first server to be updated and they were both updated from the command line as per this article without any errors: http://www.alitajran.com/install-exchange-cumulative-update I have checked security permissions are the same for both servers for the paths mentioned. Has anyone seen this or have any ideas how to troubleshoot ? Thanks DM2.5KViews0likes0CommentsExchange 2013 CU21 coexistence with Exchange 2019 AD requirements
Hello, We currently have Exchange 2013 CU21 on-prem servers in our primary and secondary Data Centers with Hybrid configured with Office 365. Majority of mailboxes have been migrated to O365, with just a few remaining on-prem. In primary and secondary Data Centers, Domain Controllers are on server 2016. We have a few remote sites aswell in which the Domain Controllers are on server 2019, and because of that, our AD schema version displays as 88 which I guess got updated when 2019 DCs were installed. At the moment, the domain and forest functional level is 2012 I am now planning on upgrading on-prem exchange to exchange 2019. both Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2019 will co-exist temporarily. to introduce Exchange 2019 into the environment, I will have to raise the domain and forest functional levels to Windows server 2016 (probably can raise to 2012 R2 aswell, but might as well go to latest). Looking at the pre-requests for Exchange 2019, and Exchange 2013 co-existence, it mentions that Exchange 2013 supports 'Windows Server 2016 Active Directory servers ' Operating system environment. So i assume even if the AD Schema version is set to 88 (which is for Windows Server 2019 OS), i can still get by because in the sites where Exchange 2013 is installed, and Ex2019 will be installed, all DCs are on server 2016 OS? Can i also safely raise the domain and forest functional levels to windows server 2016 without impacting Ex2013?Solved1.7KViews0likes1CommentIssues after Exchange 2019 CU15 install
Hello, We have some issues with our Exchange server. After CU15 install we have high(er) CPU usage at the server and slow(er) Outlook (online no cache mode enabled) connection at the client. Hi team, An unusual scenario here may be. However, we have migrated users to cloud and the disk volumes that were provisioned through the SAN is barely being used. So we would like to shrink it from lets say for ex: 1.5TB to 900GB for volumes which holds DBs and Logs. I want to know if this is supported? PS: Env is Exchange 2019 Thank you.1.4KViews0likes1CommentExchange 2019 Hybrid Configuration Wizard Licence
We were planning to run Exchnage 2019 for hybrid management. This link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/hybrid-configuration-wizard-faqs?source=docs suggests running the HCW with Exchange 2019 wouldn't allow us to get a free hybrid licence key as it's not supported. However, I have seen articles online where people have run the latest HCW and got a free key for Exchange 2019. They suggest that the Microsoft literature is just behind the times since the latest HCW was released. Has anyone done this or seen that it's possible please? We are currently running Exchange 2016 with the free hybrid licence, but Exchange 2016 doesn't support Server 2022 AD servers or functional domain level. Thanks1.3KViews0likes2Comments
