Can someone tell me if the Outlook phone app is capable of displaying the colors set up for categories in the calendar? We have numerous teams using resource calendars and color coding the appointments with a different color for each person. They are complaining that they don't see the colors in the Outlook App on their phone. I tested this on my Android phone and don't see any colors. The user that submitted the complaint has an iPhone. I am having difficulty finding out from googling whether this feature is available in the Outlook phone app or not because the results just keep coming up for Outlook not the Outlook phone app. And if it is available, is it available for both Android & iOS or only one of those?157KViews7likes32CommentsHow do I book a meeting room for an invite that has been sent to me
We use room resource calendars for our room bookings. Usually we just add the meeting room into the location field or even as a participant and it books the room. When we get meeting invitations from external parties not in our organisation (e.g. suppliers) that will visit us, we'd like to book a meeting room for that visit. How do we do this? The only way we can currently do this is by creating our own duplicate calendar entry for the meeting and choose that room as the location, but we'd like to find a more integrated way, rather than having two separate unlinked calendar entries. With separate calendar entries, if the external meeting initiator changes meeting time, we have to manually change our own related calendar entry which we forget to do resulting in room being booked for wrong time. Any solutions or suggestions to help with this problem?71KViews5likes26CommentsCalendar of a Distribution Group in new Outlook
We have a Distribution Group in O365, which contains all members of a team. When you add this Distribution Group to the calendar, you can see the calendar of each team member. This way the admin can just update the Distribution Group with new team members, and everyone has gets the updated list of calendars. In the current Outlook you need to disable "Turn on shared calendar improvements" for this to work as described https://blog.icewolf.ch/archive/2023/06/22/outlook-calendar-you-cant-add-distribution-list-to-calendar-group/. But in the "new" Outlook I can't add the calendars via the Distribution Group, and the option from the "old" Outlook is gone. Does anyone have a solution for this?8.3KViews4likes2CommentsPrimer: How to Use RBAC for Applications to Control App Use of the Mail.Send Permission
The temptation to use the Mail.Send application permission in scripts can lead PowerShell developers into trouble because the permission allows access to all mailboxes, including sensitive executive and financial mailboxes. Fortunately, RBAC for Applications allows tenants to control the access that apps have to mailboxes and other Exchange content. All explained here with an example script to test RBAC of Applications. https://office365itpros.com/2026/02/17/mail-send-rbac-for-applications/222Views3likes4CommentsOutlook desktop client - showing multiple months of calendar in To-Do bar
"In the old days" you could show as many months of calendar in the to-do bar space as the width would allow. As you dragged the width wider, more months would fill in. Now no matter how wide you make the screen real estate, only one month is visible. My screenshot below makes it clear what I'm saying. The yellow spaces used to show the month before and after the "primary" month that was currently displayed in the main window. As I don't think this is a setting, Microsoft please consider this a suggestion -- to bring back the described functionality as it was until at least Outlook 2013 if not even more recent. A reader wants to remove all calendar items over a certain age. Compliance purge actions seem like a good way to do this, but there's a problem that needs to be fixed. eDiscovery purges can do the job, but only if you have eDiscovery Premium. And then there's Graph APIs to consider. All in all, many ways exist to purge calendar items. https://practical365.com/ediscovery-purges/79Views2likes0CommentsMicrosoft Places individual desk booking is not working
Hi, Following the documentation, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/places/configure-desk-booking, I successfully ran the shared command lines without any errors. However, on Microsoft Places, I am unable to see individual desks appear; only desk pools are visible. Has anyone managed to get this to work? The company I work for currently use a shared calendar in Dynamics 365 called "service calendar". My boss dislikes this calendar because it doesn't sync with his Outlook very well. Instead he wants everyone to share each others Outlook calendars. I am a bit concerned this is not the best practice. 1. It does not seem to be an easy way to setup everyone sharing with everyone as the O365 admin. 2. I am a bit concerned this can lead to problems. I assume it will be a strain on resources if the Outlook pc and mobile app has to sync everyones calendar? I would appreciate any input and possible suggestions for a better alternative. Thanks in advance.1.8KViews1like4Comments
