Azure Backup port requirements
Hi, I have been quite successful in migrating several clients and theor various server/workstation config to backup daily to Azure Backup Services. With one exception. This client has posed challenges for me in the past. Back in the days when he was running SBS2003. The scenario is that he rents office space within another organization. Included in this arrangement is Internet access. I do not hold sway, nor provide support to the other entity. To keep the two networks separated I have placed a router on the hosts LAN and have my clients operate on a completely different subnet. Thus far, for the most part, this has worked. My challenge is getting Azure Backup to function. Bear in mind I do not have access to the Intenet facing router. I have managed to setup an account on Azure, and have managed to installed the backup client, select exclusions etc. But that's where my progress ends. The portal acknowledges a client has been installed, but no data has ever been uploaded to the servers. Other online backup services, such as Attix5, KeepItSafe etc. all function correctly, just Azure doesn't. Any guidance would be much appreciated. PaulTroubleshooting – Backup Failed? Snapshot Failed? We are planning to bring >1TB managed disk support by end of this year. You need to rediscover the database and then manually trigger configure protection to backup that database. Azure backup - email alerts for INACTIVATED alerts?
We use Azure backup to backup simple files/folders for clients. We have a recovery services vault per customer, and use the Azure backup agent. We have email alerts configured to send us notifications when the backup fails (hourly digest). When a backup failure alert happens, we go in and check it, then inactivate the alert in the Azure portal. A few days ago, we inactivated several alerts as usual. Then we started getting email alerts over and over telling us the alert was inactivated, looks like this: There are 3 alert(s) inactivated for Recovery Services vault, [vaultname] We keep getting these repeatedly. Super annoying, and don't really understand why you'd send an email notification telling me that the alerts were inactivated. Maybe once, but not repeatedly. I completely disabled email alerts, waited awhile, then turned them back on again. We will see what happens, just weird.Backup your applications on Azure Stack with Azure Backup
Earlier this month, we announced Azure Stack expanding availability to 92 countries. Today, we are announcing the capability to backup files and applications data using Microsoft Azure Backup Server. Azure Stack tenants can now take app consistent backup of their data in Azure Stack VMs, store them on the stack for operational recoveries, and send the data to Azure for long-term retention and offsite copy needs. Azure Recovery Services Vault Pricing for specific VMs
Hi, We have recently setup a few VMs for our security department and they will be paying for them out of their budget. We can easily filter the costs by the resource group for the VMs, storage etc but we are struggling with re-charging them for the cost of their backups. We are using Azure Recovery Services Vault and performing a selective disk backup on two of their VMs. I can manually cost this using the pricing calculator, but i don;t want to have to work this out every time based on how much data they have used. Is there a way to see the cost per VM for backups? I can only see a cost per Recovery Services vault and nothing more granuar. Thanks J
