After enabling the taskbar auto-hide feature, when using windowed full-screen applications such as emulators or AMD Software, moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen does not bring up the taskbar. I have tried common solutions such as restoring the system to factory settings and disabling NVIDIA in-game overlay, but none of them worked. This issue occurs in both the 23H2 and 24H2 versions. Is this how Windows 11 is designed to work, or have I configured something incorrectly?40Views0likes1CommentDoes Windows 11 have a desktop stack feature similar to the one on Apple Macs?
I’d like to confirm whether Windows 11 has a feature similar to the Stacks feature on Apple’s macOS desktop, which automatically groups and organizes desktop files by type, date, and other criteria. My desktop is a mess, and I really need a tool like this to help me organize it.54Views0likes2CommentsAnother unwanted automatic reboot!
Unfortunately, it happened again. Despite the registry hacks and YouTube research (a LOT of hits!), I still got rebooted last night and I had applications running that update disk files. As these were cached, now I'm left with corrupted files and a recovery procedure. This event has caused lost time and much, much frustration. C'mon Microsoft!!! Do us a favor and stop automatically rebooting the system. I suspect this action is for the benefit of the casual user, who probably doesn't know better, but give us advanced users a break. At least provide an option to NOT AUTOMATICALLY REBOOT!! A reminder that update were applied and a reboot is needed (which we receive) is fine but DON'T AUTOMATICALLY REBOOT!!4Views0likes0CommentsMATCH function over seperate tabs
I know a bit about functions but not enough to figure out why my formula stops working when I move the table data to a new tab. I have a several tabs with data, which I have created the data validation drop down lists, individual small tables for several areas of the spreadsheet that all gets collected on the "Daily Working Tab". I want the next table removed from the "Daily Working" Tab and put on it's own tabs of "Payee's" Right now, I have a formula that checks the value in column “AK” for each row in the table and returns “Y” if there’s a match or “-” if not, so I can see if I’ve added it to the relevant month for each of six months: =IFERROR(IF(MATCH($AK8,$E$8:$E$80,0),"Y"),"-") This works fine on the same tab, but as soon as I move the data to another tab, the updated formula =IFERROR(IF(MATCH($AK8,'Daily Working'!E8:E80,0),"Y"),"-") no longer works, even after fixing the “#REF!” error by pointing it to the correct tab and table to "'Daily Working'!$E$8:$E$80'". I’ve read about using several INDEX, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, nested IF, and MATCH combined functions, but I still can’t get it to work and baffled where or what I am doing wrong or need to do to get this to work. I have even split the information on different spreadsheets and it works but this defeats the purpose of having this all on one spreadsheet and different tabs. Probably simple to fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA WPH.30Views0likes1CommentWifi not working after deleting capability access manager db
is there someone here with some computer windows know how - I was having a problem with the capability accessmanager database consuming all my hard drive space and so every bit of advice I found online from even windows forums was to simply delete the db file and windows will automatically recreate it but it will eliminate the enormous file upon next restart I did that and now though I don't have any wifi connection and I get an error message in services when I try to restart the capability access manager service - I don't know what to do now I have windows 11. All the advice I found online was saying that if you delete the database file that is okay because windows just recreates it when you restart as long as Capability Access manager service isn't disabled - well I didn't disable it, I just followed the directions to go into safe.mode and delete the db file But now after restarts the Capability access manager remains disabled and I can't start it in the services.msc3.5KViews0likes10CommentsHow can I prevent the screen from turning dark gray while using the Snipping Tool on Windows 11?
Hello there! I'm glad you got in touch. I'm Liz, a fellow enthusiast of all things Windows. It's great to connect with you! My timezone is UTC +8, so feel free to ask for assistance anytime during my working hours. I see that you're facing an issue with a gray screen, but no need to fret - I'm here to lend a hand. To resolve this, you can try the following steps: 1. Open the Snipping Tool. 2. Click on Options. 3. Uncheck the box labeled "Show screen overlay when Snipping Tool is active." 4. Click OK to save the changes and exit the menu. After completing these steps, recheck the screen to see if the issue has been resolved. Please keep me updated on how it goes, and I hope this information proves helpful to you. Let me know if you need further assistance!5.4KViews12likes13CommentsWindows 11 does not natively support creating shortcuts
I don't understand why you have to use the Registry Editor or import a .reg file to modify the items in the “New” menu. I hope Microsoft will provide a native settings interface to manage these shortcuts directly, without having to rely on the Registry Editor or third-party software.37Views0likes2CommentsIs the way mobile notifications are displayed in the new Windows 11 Start menu a bit of a letdown?
In the new Start menu, phone notifications only display “1 new notification” instead of showing the actual text of the notification. Even though there is clearly enough space to display the full message, it only shows the name of the app that sent it, which isn’t very helpful. Users still need to open the “Phone Link” app to see the specific content of the notification. Since a dedicated phone status panel has already been designed, why add this extra step? Hopefully, Microsoft will provide an option in the future that allows users to customize how notifications are displayed.82Views1like0CommentsCan't convert heif images to jpg on my Windows 11 PC
I have a large batch of HEIF images taken from my digital cameras. As I’m looking to convert these images into the more universally compatible JPG format for easier sharing and usage, I would greatly appreciate any advice or methods that can help me bulk convert heif files to jpg on my Windows 11 PC. Before making a new post here, I tried to convert heif image to jpg with the photos app but it says it can't open heif file and asked me to install the HEIF Images Extensions. Unfortunate, I can't convert heif images even after installing the app from microsoft store. I am out of solutions from my own hands.5.3KViews16likes6Comments
