17 TopicsFew Doubts - Viva Engage
Hello everyone! I have some questions about viva engage, I hope someone can help me. Is it possible to hide the "create a community" option, so that only a few users that I select can see it? How can I schedule posts? For us it's very important to know how, because all the communication we had on Facebook, we now do on Viva Engage. When I remove or add a member to a community (1 to 1 or by csv file), how can I turn off email notification? we don't want anyone to receive notification that they have been removed or added to the community. Is there an option we can configure to disable all notifications for all users? and then each one can configure it as required. Is there a way for the user to update the cover photo and profile photo? Regards, Sarai2.5KViews1like12CommentsUsers Receiving Emails Asking to Login to Viva Engage
We have had Viva Engage enabled for the masses for a while now with little use. It was never formally rolled out, although we are finally getting there. A few users have discovered it and started making posts. It appears when users view the posts, they then receive an email requesting them to login to Viva Engage (example follows). There's no mention of what this email is anywhere that we have found (documentation, blogs, etc.). I'm certain it is caused by the platform never being configured properly before it was used. Has anyone seen this or know why this is happening? Thanks! We are very excited for the world to hear about the Sanofi Pasteur story! Sanofi Pasteur is responsible for making some of the world’s most complicated and vital products. Read how the company uses Yammer to further its mission of protecting lives with vaccines. https://o365.com/sanofipasteur2KViews3likes0CommentsWhat is the default GIF source in Engage when you disable Tenor GIFs in admin settings?
Hi community, We noted a difference in the GIFs searchable in Teams (Giphy) and Engage (Tenor) and want to offer our employees a similar experience when it comes to using GIFs in either Teams or Engage. In Engage network admin center there is a configuration option under Network: "Show Tenor GIF Search" which can be disabled. In Teams there doesn't seem to be such option. The question is: when disabling this, will the Engage GIF search be disabled completely or will it default to GIPHY?Solved1.7KViews0likes3CommentsMigration to Viva Engage
Hi Would anyone know if there are more options to upload data from our old company portal in bulk to Viva Engage other than the API? I just finished the export of the old portal and have a JSON file with all posts and links to pictures and documents. I scripted everything to download the documents and use the ID of the post as filenames so I can add them back. Drawback of using the API is that you can't post on behalf of someone else so all user related data is lost nor can you set the date on which the post is originally created. Any tips would be welcome. Thanks!1.7KViews0likes4Comments"New" to Viva Engage, with over 100 existing M365 Groups (private) - how to approach communities?
Hi, I have used Yammer in the past (pre 2016) and have refrained and not encouraged usage in our organization due to the very disconnected user experience and also not having the ressources to manage yet another channel of communications. I want revisit the current Viva Engage situation. I've let the Yammer Support reprovision our network for EU data residency, so it's completely empty. By reading the documentation I would assume we're about as aligend to M365 as is possible. It seems like I can create Communities that are connected to M365 Groups by-default, but I haven't found the other way around. What am I todo with our existing 100 private M365 Groups that mostly represent organizational departments, project teams, larger organizational topics/interests? Are we expected to re-create all these groups? Are there any useful "migration" paths/ideas for this scenario? I'm really not a fan of M365 Groups clutter and also do not allow the creation of groups outside of administrator for this very reason. any help or further links to other resources are high appreciated.1.2KViews0likes2CommentsIs there any kind of email or notification that is pushed when someone uses Storyline?
As per the title, I'm wondering if M365 will push out an email or any kind of notification is someone uses Storyline - assuming: no topics were used no one is FOLLOWING the individual no one is mentioned Would the 'Discover what's happening across your organization' auto-digest include storyline posts that no one has seen or engaged with?900Views3likes6CommentsHow to Ensure Email Digests are Properly Rendered in Outlook
I was blowing the dust off of my organization's 'All Company' community and, as expected, a handful of staff were emailed about my post . However, the email only included links to the post, instead of fully rendering the post so people could see the content, react and reply. Is there a way to ensure that all emails sent from a community fully render in Outlook? It's a great feature, but it doesn't seem reliable.699Views1like1CommentInvite guests to Viva Engage Community
I am looking into using Viva Engage but it is a deal breaker for us that guests with non-microsoft accounts cannot be added. It looks like the old Yammer used to allow external users to join? but the new Viva Engage does not? I have read articles about the new B2B guest framework https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/engage/work-with-external-users/collaborate-guests-external-viva-engage-community What I am trying to achieve though is allowing personal accounts, gmail, hotmail, etc Our use case is that we have a company community, but would like to invite a small number of guests into our community prior to them joining our team to give them a feel for how the business operates. I would be happy to assign purchase and assign licenses, but there is no easy way for non Office365 admins to do so. It would also cause friction to ask a new person that is not part of our business to use a new MS email account. Ideally this is how I would see it working Just allow guests to join with personal accounts. Community admins can just type in their email and invite them. We could have a pool of available Viva Engage licences. Community admins can invite a guest via their personal email address and assign an available licence.Solved599Views0likes1CommentReduced Distribution of Viva Engage Weekly "Discovery" Digest Email
I'm interested in knowing if others have seen changes in the distribution of the Viva Engage Weekly "Discovery" Digest Email. We are on the standard M365 A5 for Faculty plan, and always experienced a high level of user engagement following the email digest going out. This had reduced significantly over the last 8 weeks. This week only ~1500 digest emails with the subject line "Discover what’s happening across your organization" were sent. We used to see ~6500! I suspect a change in the Algorithm. This Blog post describes the fundamentals: Viva Engage Explained: Email Digests - Microsoft Community Hub Do we expect everyone to receive a Discovery Digest (if they have it selected in their Notifications)546Views0likes1Comment
