Hi Everyone, Below article doesn't mention any limit about uploaded files. Does anyone one if there is a file size limit for files that are uploaded? Are all the files scanned? Hi everyone, I am working on a project where we are finding a manually finding a significant number of duplicate records in SharePoint. That said there is almost 7TB of data and doing this manually is not really realistic. Is there a more effective method or Microsoft recommended Deduplication tool out there that can simplify this process? I know PowerShell is an option but looking for something more user friendly for non-technical users as they will be the ones that need to verify and approve the deletion of the records during the dedup process. Appreciate any guidance you can provide.1View0likes0CommentsSynced files not uploading changes
Hi, There is a file called 'Schedule' saved onto one of our Sharepoint drives. This file is commonly accessed by 3 users that work within the same offices and each have to edit the spreadsheet daily. 2 users can see the changes being made by each other with no issue. The 3rd user can open the file and see that the other two users are there. The 3rd user can see that changes are being made (typing dots, cells are highlighted as the other users move around the document) however cannot actually see those changes. The other 2 users can see that the 3rd user is within the document and can see when they are typing - but none of the 3rd users changes are visible to the other 2 users. The 3rd user can save, exit and re enter the document with ease. The 3rd users changes are always there for the 3rd user to see, however they still don't appear for the other 2 users. I have tried re-syncing the files, closing and opening etc. however nothing seems to fix the issue. This issue is now affecting two separate people within my company. Both are experiencing the same issue on different files (1 is 'Schedule' the other is 'Pipeline'). The files are held on the same Sharepoint Drive, but are within separate folders etc. Can someone please help me out with this? Thanks Gen9Views0likes0CommentsSPO vs Google Analytics Discrepancies
I've created a GA report filtered by site (path begins with /sites/sitename) and see drastically different numbers in SPO and GA. Both filters are 7 days One page has 29 unique viewers in SPO, 14 in GA Some pages are omitted in GA Pages from other sites have 1 hit (is GA counting exit pages?)28Views0likes1CommentTracking Usage on SharePoint Communication Site
Hi, We have a SharePoint communication site and are looking for ways to track its usage beyond just the landing page. Specifically, we want to understand who is accessing not only the landing page but also the document libraries linked through the quick links on the page. Could you advise on how to conduct an audit that captures usage data for the entire site, including all libraries accessed via the quick links? What options should I consider when setting up the audit, or is there an alternative method to achieve this? Thank you!103Views0likes1CommentEmbedding Scribe slides iframe in SharePoint - HTML Field Security set up but still blocked!
I'm running into an issue with embedding Scribe slides in SharePoint: I’ve added scribehow.com to the HTML Field Security settings at the site collection level under "Allow contributors to insert iframes only from the following domains." I confirmed that DenyAddAndCustomizePages is disabled I tested using this Embed Web Part (sort of) <iframe src="https://scribehow.com/page-embed/blah_blah_blah" width="100%" height="640" allowfullscreen frameborder="0"></iframe> The Embed Web Part shows an error saying the domain isn’t allowed: "Embedding content from this website isn't allowed, but your admin can change this setting by adding scribehow.com to the list of sites that are allowed." I've also: Tested after a couple hours for propagation Verified that other iframes (e.g., YouTube) work fine in the same web part Disabled Youtube in the HTML Field Security settings, it still works??? Cleared the browser cache and tested in multiple browsers Despite all this, the embed still throws that error, so.... Is there something I’m missing in configuring HTML Field Security or tenant-level settings? Has anyone successfully embedded Scribe in SharePoint, and if so, how did you configure it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!25Views0likes0CommentsMake dropdowns open automatically
Hello, I have a few dropdown menus on my SharePoint page which are closed by default and I have a few buttons referencing on the dropdown menus via quicklinks. Now I don't want to have every dropdown section open by default as that would be overwhelming, but is there a way to let them open up individually when I click on the respective button? Right now it only takes me there to a closed dropdown section which isn't really an optimal user experience. Thanks for any help in advance!19Views0likes1CommentSharepoint columns sync with File Explorer view, or an alternative option
Hi all I'm more an admin person rather than IT, but have been asked to find a solution for one of our directors who prefers to open his documents using File Explorer over Sharepoint online. And before you ask, no he won't change his ways! I need to be able to set up File Explorer to filter/display/order (however you want to name it) project folders synced with Sharepoint according to whether they are: 1/ Active or Complete (status) 2/ under his name as project manager. I thought I had found the answer by adding columns to Sharepoint (see attached a screen shot below), but I have since discovered that those columns do not feed across to File Explorer. The only other solution I have is adding multiple layers of folders to Sharepoint. This will only complicate the library for other users so I am averse to implementing this. Is there a way of tagging or adding some form of metadata to folders that will pass between Sharepoint and File Explorer that we can use to then filter the view on his device? Any suggestions please and thank you.17KViews7likes22CommentsOpen in a new tab and etc
Hello, My company recently switched from Drive to SharePoint a few days ago, but I find SharePoint lacking in usability. I've encountered several frustrating issues while using the platform. Here’s a list of the problems I’ve experienced, and I would appreciate your advice if there are any possible solutions: It’s not possible to open a document in a “new tab” or window. This is frustrating because I have to check each file one by one. Even when I switch the view (e.g., Tiles, Compact List, or List), it keeps resetting itself, which is very inconvenient. When I click on a random PDF, JPG, or similar file, it doesn’t show me which folder the file belongs to. I can’t pin or add my favorite folders to the left menu for quick access. Searching is a major issue. The search function only works based on the current folder I’m in, and to perform an effective search, I have to go back to the root folder every time.32Views0likes0Comments
