Skype for Business

Hi Has others notified that when you are having Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams on the same workstation, in some scenarios the headset start playing the dial tone. Microsoft have the following page to describing the issue: Skype for Business plays a dial tone during a Teams call, but at least on our end this issue has been away quite many months, or years even. But suddenly this issue is here again and wondering why..? Also it looks that those solutions seems to be not help.19KViews6likes27CommentsMS Teams / Skype for Business 2015 / Cisco Call Manager
Hello, I just need to verify the below design. We have S4B 2015 and will integrate it with Cisco call manager and have M365 E3. https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise/interoperability-portal/skyp-for-business.pdf Our goal is to migrate some users to MS Teams with enterprise voice to be able to communicate with on-premises users through the assign line URI. Based on my understanding there are two ways to do this either using direct routing for MS teams client or using Hybrid voice for S4B Online client. So, I have some questions to make things clear Whats the best solution for this scenario? Do we need to implement SBC in all hybrid scenarios? Do we need a special M365 license for Phone System (Cloud PBX) to be able to enable enterprise voice for the migrated users? after checking this article. Microsoft dose not mention if migrating users to MS Teams is double they mentioned only migrating users to S4B online. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/skype-for-business-hybrid-solutions/plan-your-phone-system-cloud-pbx-solution/enable-users-for-phone-systemSolved7.8KViews0likes5CommentsBusy signal on outbound call to PSTN
We have a user configured to the point where they now have a dialpad in their Teams client. We have an auto-attendant created and when we dial into that number, we can transfer the call to the user's Teams client successfully. However, when we try to make a call out to the PSTN we just get a "Unavailable The person you're trying to reach isn't available. Try again later." The user has a Microsoft calling plan assigned and we are not using direct routing. We can't see anything that could be the issue since everything seems to be in order. Here are some parameters from the user: Phone number type: Online OnPremEnterpriseVoiceEnabled: False HostedVoiceMail: True EnterpriseVoiceEnabled: True TeamsVoiceRoute: False OnPremLineURIManuallySet: True VoicePolicy: BusinessVoice TeamsUpgradeEffectiveMode: TeamsOnly DialPlan: US LocationPolicy: US HostedVoicemailPolicy: BusinessVoice3.2KViews1like2CommentsUser not assigned audio conference number
Hi All, I have a user I licensed with M365 E5 who has not assigned an audio conference number. I verified the user has the "Microsoft 365 Audio Conferencing" option checked on the "Licenses and apps" tab in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Also via power shell and found MCOMEETADV Success. But in Teams Audio Conferencing off?3.2KViews0likes5CommentsTeams desktop app will not recognize camera anymore
I am on a mac and the teams app not recognizing my camera (other than the built in camera) anymore. I have my laptop closed when connected to my monitor so using the built in camera isn't a good option so i've been using a smartphone as my camera. It was working in teams prior to a Catalina update, so I'm unsure if it's related. I have teams authorized to use the camera in my security and privacy settings so that has not helped. Skype for business also will not recognize the camera either. I tested other apps (eg. zoom) and the browser version of teams and it does recognize the cameras, so to get it to work i have to use teams through the browser to have a video call. I've tried multiple ways of connecting the camera, tested other cameras. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the camera apps and teams/skype, I've also tried resetting the System Management Controller (SMC). Same issues, works in everything but teams and skype for business desktop apps. Not understanding why this is and hoping a fix or workaround shows up soon. Would rather not have to use the browser version just for teams.3.2KViews0likes1CommentTeam-to-Team chat when SFB is homed on-premise
We have moved some users to TeamsOnly Mode(Hybrid connectivity all set). The rest of users are in Island mode. The question is: When 2 Island mode users having Team-to-Team chat/call, does the traffic go through the on-premise intranet, Specifically, does such chat interact with on-premise sfb servers just like sfb-to-sfb chat? In this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/migration-interop-guidance-for-teams-with-skype, it says: Users who are homed on premises interact with on-premises Skype for Business servers and Teams users inherently have a Skype for Business home, whether they use Skype for Business or not. If you have on-premises Skype for Business users that are also using Teams (side by side), those users are homed on premisesSolved1.4KViews0likes1CommentCall Queues and Auto attendants
Hi, I have a few different posts but wanted to create a new one for this. We are trying to figure out if we need to use call queues and auto attendants for what we need. Basically, our main office# is tied to a user account with a phone system license, and we are trying to set it up so that when someone calls our main #, and reception doesn't pick it up, it forwards to a call group after 10 seconds, and then if no one picks up, then go to voicemail. I see no way to do this in the user's desktop client. I do see a way to ring call group and reception at the SAME TIME and then go to voicemail, but that doesn't work as the users in the call group obviously get annoyed getting all of reception's calls. Secondly, calls going to the reception line are also going to the call group after hours on their mobile phones since they are logged into Teams there as well, another annoyance. I think there are ways to mute this in some way in the mobile Teams client but its such a pain. Few considerations: Reception HAS to be able to pick up calls when it rings...the outside caller should not need to press 1 for Sales, 2 for IT, or 0 for operator or anything; calls should go directly to reception. We would like the business hours for the call group etc. to be between 7am-7pm EST, and then all calls outside these hours go directly to a voicemail (reception or otherwise but should be an email as well if possible). How do we handle this? Thanks.7.6KViews0likes14CommentsCall queue rings in skype for business in island mode
Hey there My organization is currently setup in island mode. I have pstn setup via direct routing to teams and it works like a charm. However call queues do not ring in the teams channel but in the skype for business app, which is funny because direct calls to my number arrive in teams app. Is there a way to change this? When i change my teams upgrad policy to teams only it works and everything arrives in teams.Solved2KViews0likes1CommentHow to set up meetings with Skype for Business users
My organization just switched from Skype for Business to Teams. Our customer still uses Skype for Business and I want to set up a meeting with them and send them the appropriate link to the meeting room. Is this possible? I tried to set this up through the coexistence settings, but it says Microsoft has disabled this so I cannot move back. This is quite urgent for us. Can anybody provide any advice on how to set up the meeting, or, if not, how to move back to Skype for Business? I prefer Teams but my customer is still using SFB and it is important we are able to arrange meetings with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.1.2KViews0likes2Comments
