The Return of the General Channel
Last year, Microsoft removed the need to have a General channel in a team. Now the General channel is making a comeback, and you can choose to have one in a team. If you choose to have a General channel, it appears at the top of the channel list. If not, Teams sorts the channel list alphabetically. Message center notification MC711019 covers the ability to hide the General channel for a team, a feature designed to free up space in the teams and channels list. Team members (including guests) can decide if they want to see the General channel in their list.
