7 TopicsModification loss in excel files hosted on OneDrive
On December 4th I discovered losses of modifications in some files. When opening an Excel file I often work with, I was suprised since I was sure I added some lines into it a few days ago. I looked at version history and found a strange behaviour on December 4th: several versions on 29th November 15:06 with the same size. One of the 3 versions of 29th November 15:06 seem to be the latest in terms of modifications, even the size was similar. So I manually recovered this one. I did the same on a 2nd excel file to confirm the issue. Other files may be impacted. How can that happen? Could it be a ntp issue leading OneDrive not to know which version is the latest? I opened a case at MS support, but they closed the case w/o resolution. They even didn't try to understand the issue, just sending a TN how to restore a version of a file. But first I need to identify all the impacted files, then to find the correct version. I can't do these actions manually on hundred or maybe thousands of files. How could I proceed? Do u think it is related to Excel or OneDrive or to sthg else?72Views0likes2CommentsEXCEL
Gracias356Views0likes1Commenttwo different excel files on oneDrive

I have a website with an embedded iframe of an Excel spreadsheet through OneDrive's "Embed" option. The problem is that every time I update the file the URI changes (specifically the authkey and resid parameters) and it breaks the embed. Is there anyway to pin those variables to the file so that I can update it and not break the embed?774Views1like0CommentsOneDrive Business Sync Issue with Excel on Mac OS
Hello, we are using OneDrive for Business and Office 365 on Mac OS in our organisation. Since the lates update (June 2019) we have a very bad issue in combination with Excel. Now we are on release 19.152.0801.0007 for OneDrive and 16.30 for Excel. The Problem: We are using the Auto-Save Funktion in Excel, so our employees can work together on the same excel sheet. But every time they close the excel files, onedrive say that there is a sync conflict with the file, that was closed immediately. OneDrive say: "We couldn't merge the changes...". And when we open the server version again, this conflict still appears. So OneDrive display a sync conflict, but there is absolutely no real sync conflict with the file! And this conflict only comes up, when we close the excel file with activated auto save. We have this problem just with excel files. In word for instance everything works well. Does anybody know if microsoft know this issue or does anybody know when the next update (Production-Ring) will be released? We also tried downgrading to the Enterprise-Ring (19.086.0502.0010) but OneDrive will automatically update by itself to Production-Ring and there is no way to prevent Onedrive from doing that update.🙂 We hope to get some help. Thanks a lot Michael1.1KViews0likes0CommentsExcel personal.xlsb to OneDrive

Why is it that a simple file path/name, that is 145 characters long refuses to save from Excel? Seriously, this is 2019, why is there such a small limit for file path/name? I've recently moved all my files from a networked drive, to OneDrive and it's causing me constant issues.. I find myself, copying files then renaming them, then opening them. Or if it's new, I'll create it in the root, then move and rename it outside of Excel. Please resolve this crazyness!1.7KViews0likes3Comments
