I've been testing and using this feature for as long as the new Edge has been around, without parallel downloading flag (edge://flags/#enable-parallel-downloading), the download speed is unbelievably slow, with the flag enabled, it's only slightly better. I don't know how many concurrent connections Edge makes to the download server with this flag on, but it's very broken. for example, download speed of a file in Edge is only 500 KB/s with parallel downloading on, with a download manager like Free Download Manager, the speed is 10x faster. I'm aware that this is depended on the network conditions of each user and my experience can't be universal and experienced by everyone, but the simply fact that a download manager with 6 to 8 concurrent (parallel) connections can fully utilize my Internet bandwidth, and Edge can't do this, is a problem. this is not something to be fixed with a simple browser reinstall or even related to OS. throughout the past 2 years I've done these countless times, literally. I'm sending feedback about it using the feedback button on Edge, if you're reading this and want download speed to be improved in Edge, please do the same and in the feedback URL add the link to this post for full description, thank you24KViews7likes10CommentsNEW feature: Edge now Officially supports Chrome Themes in the latest Update

I've got an embedded PDF Window, where I see the PDF correctly. But when I use "save as..", it downloads a 0 KB PDF file. This happens only in Edge. I tried it with Firefox and Chrome, and there it downloads the PDF without problem. The funny thing is that this website gives me the option to download the PDF directly without showing it embedded in the Window. And that download works perfect. Only the download of the embedded view doesn't work. Any ideas?Solved15KViews0likes6CommentsError Installing/updating New Microsoft Edge

Here are the file types Edge insider browser currently recognizes in downloads My suggestion is to let us choose a separate Download location for each file type. Because: I usually download games or movies (compressed files for games and video files for movies/series) that are big (>10GB) and in multiple parts. I want them to be saved on somewhere else other than C drive, such as my HDD drive for archieve. I want PDF files to be automatically saved in Documents folder/PDF. I want downloaded Image file be saved in my OneDrive/Pictures folder so they get automatically synced and uploaded to my OneDrive cloud space. I want Audio files be saved in a Different folder where my music player program and Spotify watch those folders for music files (MP3, AAC etc). I want unknown files (files with extensions other than those mentioned above) to be saved in the default download location so I can decide what to do with them later. I want .exe files (programs) to be automatically saved in a different partition where the rest of my programs are. And so on. there is currently one global download location having to choose a download location and browse for a folder for each of them every time is not convenient, so, Please Let us Choose Download Location For each File Type separately in Edge insider browser. also let Edge insider Sync these download location settings with cloud so Users won't have to apply all of these modifications Again after reinstalling browser or OS change, etc. Thanks6.4KViews16likes5CommentsError on updating Edge canary: Failed to cache the downloaded installer. Error: 0x800b0001.
I'm getting this infamous error Failed to cache the downloaded installer. Error: 0x800b0001. restarting Edge or computer doesn't help. I can see the directory is created: AppData\Local\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\Download\{ID}\83.0.473.0 for some reason my Fiddler doesn't show me the URL of the file being downloaded either. so I would like to fix this without reinstalling Canary 🙂Solved5.5KViews0likes12CommentsMicrosoft will NOT be pushing out the new Edge via Windows Update to everyone
So previously there was this post from this source saying Microsoft will be pushing out the new Edge via Windows Update to the majority of Windows 10 users, but the documentation on Microsoft's website has changed now, here are the newly added information: Update 01/09/2020 To help our customers become more secure and up-to-date, Microsoft will distribute Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) to Home and Pro Edition devices running Windows 10 version 1803 via Windows Update. This process will start after January 15th, 2020 and more information will be available on that date. The Blocker Toolkit is intended for organizations that would like to block automatic delivery of Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) on devices running Windows 10 version 1803 and newer that are running the Home or Pro Edition of Windows. All other versions and Editions of Windows are excluded from being updated automatically. Devices running Windows 10 Home or Pro Edition that are joined to an Active Directory or Azure Active Directory domain, are MDM managed, or are WSUS or WUfB managed, will also be excluded from this automatic update." No enterprise versions of Windows will be automatically updated, meaning the Blocker Toolkit is just needed if you run Home and Pro on your enterprise network, and if they are not joined to a Domain. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployEdge/microsoft-edge-blocker-toolkit4.8KViews2likes6Comments
