Yammer for News Article Commenting

Would anyone be willing to share some screen shots of their SharePoint pages that are using Yammer for commenting purposes?  Specifically for news type articles and not on the modern pages.  We have this partially working, but I'm running into a couple issues.


1.  Every time someone comments on the article it creates a new conversation.  Ideally we want one conversation per article and all responses should fall under that.  Or somehow the conversations need to be organized so users on the page and in Yammer both understand what they are commenting on. 


2.  Every time someone makes a new comment it includes a link to the article in a very ugly block.  Seems like there should be a better way to format.  It consumes a lot of space on the page. 


3. Users shouldn't need anything more than read access to the SharePoint page that has the Yammer feed on it correct?  I'm finding some odd behavior where a user with only read access is able to post on the page, but when they return to the page they only see their comments.  Likewise other users viewing that page do not see this particular users comments.  Still investigating this.


If anyone would like to share how they are accomplishing this it would be greatly appreciated.

Reviving this one as we had it at another organisation where we deployed Yammer and had the conversation in Yammer appear at the bottom of the SharePoint News page - it was all custom code tho.

So in SharePoint Online News I can see the post to Yammer link and I can create a post in Yammer with a link to the news item but at the same time I want to have the Yammer conversation for this article also visible on the SharePoint page.

Is this possible?

@Garry Rawlins I don't think this is feasible because the Yammer Embed or the Yammer Conversations web parts are community feeds, not individual thread/conversation feeds.


Presently, Yammer is not intended to serve as the platform for the comments on SP News pages.

Thats a shame Kevin - I've never quite understood if you have a Yammer network, why you'd want to have separate comments on a SharePoint page/article. That's a muddled user experience if there ever was one (I get the additional technical cost but really ...). Makes it worse having the post to Yammer from a news item with conversations in Yammer that then point back to a SharePoint page with comments there also ... hmmm ... I give credit to those Gold Partners in the past who suggested their custom integration.

Do you use Twitter for comments on a Blog site? No? I think you can see the analogy I am drawing.
