How do you turn off private messages in Yammer Home page

I want to turn off / take away the Private Messages section (the one down in the left corner) of the home page (see attached picture). How do I do that? Just think that they are a distraction and that they make the Home page more cluttered.

Some agree with me, others don't. But you should be able to choose for your self anyway.

I agree that panel is distracting and ideally could be minimized so as to reduce the visual cluter.
