We are about to invite several hundred external users to join an External Yammer group. However, in testing, we've found that sometimes the invites are not arriving. This seems unrelated to a SPAM filter, as some people within the same organization may get the invite, while others do not. They also do not have Clutter turned on.

We'll open a ticket to address this, but I was curious if there are other ways that external users can accept the invitation? For instance, if we send them a direct link to the group after they've been invited, can they accept to join from there?

Essentially, if the email invites are potentially not going to show up, we'd like a workaround of some kind that we can communicate to all external users if that fails. Any suggestions?

You should be able to send them the link to the group after they've been invited, then when they click on it - it should correlate the two and let them in.
Curtis, the most common answer to this issue is that the Yammer administrator for your invitee's network has checked the box to block their employees from joining external networks owned by others. Yes, that's a thing. Unfortunately, each of those invitees needs to reach out to their admin to have them flip that switch, or you have to invite them with a different email address. I'm sure nature will find a way :)
We tried this with a few external users that have flexternal enabled. Before they opened their invite, I had them try to access the group via the URL (expecting that they would see some way to accept the invite to the group), and they were actually bounced back to their own Yammer network.
That was my hunch as well, but we were able to recreate the issue wth external users that have flexternal enabled in their network. I still think the most likely thing is that the messages are caught up in SPAM filters, clutter or something like that for most users that report this. Will log a ticket to see if we can further troubleshoot. Thanks!
Yes, there are several layers to troubleshoot. To be clear though, I'm not speaking about flexternal, which requires support intervention to disable. I'm talking about an admin setting, easily available to the network admin, that's very specific to allowing members to join others' external networks. Two different things.
