Are they are any external Yammer tools that can present a separate 'moderator view' during a YamJam? Kind of like what TweetDeck does for Twitter, and possibly one that ranks questions based on number of likes, allows you to view multiple threads on the one screen all at once, etc?

I've done a number of YamJams. I think this would be a great idea, but I am not aware of any such solution.

The best way I have found to organize a YamJam is just to make sure you have every question open in its own browser tab so the comments and replies are easy to scroll through.

@Ryan Crocker

Moderation is tricky as you have to intercept posts before they are posted. The way the Yammer clients are presented makes this nigh on impossible without the use of another app that users post through. I've heard examples of people using PowerApp or some bespoke code but that removes the accessible nature of Yammer. The new QnA feature will help identify unanswered questions. Prioritising questions is often tricky. I've seen more sentiment being added after a YamJam - when people have time with the pressure of the pace of conversation to read through it and agreeing with posts. Also some of the best questions that should be answered may not attract responses due to the nature of the question being asked. People worry that if they are seen publicly agreeing with something awkward / controversial etc then they get their cards marked. But the fact that someone had the courage to ask deserves an answer.

In my experience going with human moderators is the best way. One or two of them watching the threads grabbing bookmarks for questions to answer. If you have enough people then have someone answering or closing down threads that do not need the focus person of the YamJam to answer. They can also help spot repeat and similar questions. We run out YamJams with the moderators using Teams. They post into a chat thread the posts to focus on, model answers etc.

Finally make sure each and every post is closed off at some point. Even if it means a simple like.

I agree moderation is tricky. I implemented a simple solution using Power Automate. Not real moderation, but can deal with vast majority of the content control scenarios. Appreciate feedback.

@Ryan Crocker Not precisely a moderation tool, but a good view for someone directing or even following a YamJam is Streaming It Out Loud.  We used that for all of our global all-hands at a previous employer, and it worked very well to give an overall look of what was happening in a large meeting.

@Tom_Kretzmer ah yes, this looks great! will try this out, thanks !
