Post to Yammer by sending an email message

How and why are Yammer group addresses, in particular, integrated in the Outlook global address book and can we disable those specifically? They are the source of many accidents. People think that are e-mailing a specific department’s mailbox (e.g. HR) but are e-mailing the department’s group on Yammer with personal info and it gets posted publicly without their knowledge.

Can we disable the post by email feature altogether?

When a Yammer community becomes connected, an Office 365 Group is created, which will appear in the Exchange Address book by default. The exchange administrator can hide these using PowerShell -
