Repeating Bulleted List for Dialogue

Copper Contributor

Hello All,

I'm trying hard to get Word to create a bullet list that looks like this :

- BLA BLA BLA

     * YUP YUP YUP

- BLA BLA BLA

     * YUP YUP YUP

- BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA         BLA BLA BLA BLA

     * YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP          YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP            YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP

- BLA BLA BLA

     * YUP YUP YUP

it's for a long dialogue I'm writing. There are mostly two protagonists, P1 and P2, so I would like to have.

P1 = bullet 1 with no indentation

P2 = bullet 2 with indentation

line break every time I press Enter AFTER P2 ONLY NOT AFTER P1

P1 = bullet 1 with no indentation

P2 = bullet 2 with indentation

P1 = bullet 1 with no indentation

P2 = bullet 2 with indentation

P1 = bullet 1 with no indentation

P2 = bullet 2 with indentation

P1 = bullet 1 with no indentation

P2 = bullet 2 with indentation

Is it possible to make it so that after the "Enter" after P2, there is a line break and the list restarts at "bullet 1" automatically, every time?

Sometimes there will also have P3... So can this work without breaking the Universe?

Thanks to All

Solution

@Peter_Droon Create separate Styles for P1 and P2 that have the required paragraph attributes (No indent for P1; Indent for P2 with space after it of, say 12 pt) and with the P1 style set to be followed by the P2 style and the P2 set to be followed by P1.

Thanks a lot for taking time to help me with this, your solution is perfect and it even gives me more options to play with than I had hoped for.
