nothing hapens when I try to use xml handler to open a file

I'm trying to open xml files in Word and have tried all the suggestions but I get code or, in the case of XML Handler, nothing. I am using Windows 10 Home, Version 1909. I need help! Thanks.

p.s browsers can also open XML files.
