Need help - important files inaccessible

After switching from Windows to Mac, I can't access important files. I'm not sure if the conversion was the problem, or if it's Onedrive. I've had several Onedrive accounts, one at work, a previous and now current personal accounts. Could it be that my files are locked until I sign in with the correct onedrive account. What if I no longer have access (don't know passwords) for an older account? Please help. Files are Word and Excel.
