Locking number to previous bullet list

Copper Contributor

Hi,

Word seems to be automatically locking the numbered list I have in a document to a previous bullet list. The only way I can fix it is by pressing enter but that makes the gap larger than in others so it is noticeable. Any ideas?

By default, Word uses the List Paragraph style for bulleted and numbered items. Change the settings of that style so that it does not suppress spacing between paragraphs of the same style.

In Word for Windows, you can type the style name in the Apply Styles pane (Ctrl+Shift+S) and then click the Modify button. (Alternatively, access List Paragraph from the Styles pane, which can be displayed with Alt+Ctrl+Shift+S.)

In the Modify Style dialog box, access the Paragraph settings and locate the "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" and make sure that this option is turned off.
