How to show Python script - Word to PDF, OpenDocument Objects not Included

Looking for a good way to show Python code for a project in a manual.

I found some folks using the OpenDocument text object. I do like them as they stop the spell check highlights and keep the formatting/colors. But they don't show all the code and no scrollbars. You have to open them in Word and double click the object to see all the text. That works well if you are giving everyone a Word file and they all have Word but we need to send out PDFs.

Also when you do print to PDF it only includes the same text shown by default in the Word document. So the code may be 4 or 5 pages but the PDF only gets the first page. It is text and not a bitmap though so not sure why it's not grabbing all of the text in the text object.
