Heading-menu-error

This is the 365 version on Windows 11. Support was able to reinstall my version, but the error is still there. They then referred me to this forum here.

Hi, I need help. There is a mistake in my headings. When formatting 1.1, it always puts an additional 1 in front of it.
so that's how:
1
11.1
1.1.1
1.1.1.1

How do I fix the error?

And how do I change the view for the heading menu? For everyone else it looks different (see picture 2)

@lucahuenicke In the Define New Multilevel List dialog, change the Number style for the Level 1 numbering to A, B, C, ...

Then move to the Level 2 and remove the 1 that is either before of immediately after the A

Then move back to the Level 1 and change the Number style back to 1, 2, 3, ...
