Heading 1 not showing as "in current document", even though it's in use

Hello, I'm having trouble with a heading style that does not show as "in current document" in the style pane.

I made a meeting agenda using built-in styles Heading 1 through 7. My Styles pane is set to show styles "in current document". It shows Heading 2 through 7, but for some reason it doesn't show Heading 1. The heading style is applied to the "1. INTRODUCTION" level text, and I can see it when I switch to show "all styles". Why doesn't it show as "in current document"?

I want to use this as a template to share with other team members for all projects, so I'd like it to be very user-friendly.

Try:

1. Changing your styles display order to be Alphabetical Order, it may be dropped below what you are showing or be above it.
2. Disabling Linked Styles.

Heading 1 should be showing in the [Quick] Styles Gallery on the Home tab.

@Charles_Kenyon - thanks for your reply. Unfortunately no luck yet. 

It's not in the Quick Styles drop-down. 

I sorted the side panel by alphabet, but that's showing the entire list and still not there. I also tried checking "Disable Linked Styles" after my screenshot and no change.

Do you see the style if you choose the "In use" option for displaying styles?

@Stefan_Blom - Thanks for your reply. No, "in use" looks the same as "in current document". I can only see Heading 1 when I select "all styles", but I'm afraid that will be harder for other users to find when they use this document.

Do you see this in other documents as well? Are you able to reproduce the issue in another document?

Can you save a sample document with the problem on OneDrive or DropBox (not SharePoint) and post a share link to the document here?

Good news - I copy/pasted the entire document (with formatting) into a new blank document. I reassigned the heading styles and multi-level numbering format, and it's working as expected now. Thanks for the replies!

I'm glad you got it sorted. 

Copy & paste into a new doc is one way to fix (minor) document corruption, especially if you omit the final paragraph mark in the source document when copying.
