Can't show formatting characters in Word Web app

Copper Contributor

Hi There, I have today found that in the Browser based / online version of Word, when selecting Show/Hide formatting characters from the menu, or with shortcut Ctrl+Shift+8, nothing happens. It highlights to show it's toggled on but I see no formatting characters. This is the same in light or Dark mode, new or existing docs, multiple browsers, after clearing cache, and worked 3 days ago! Any thoughts? Thanks

I see the same at the moment: nonprinting characters are missing in Word for the web. This is likely to be a bug in the web software.

I recommend that you report the bug using Help > Feedback in Word for the web.

@Stefan_Blom, That's really handy to know; Bug = not my fault, not my job to fix = stop sweating and wasting time! So Ironic, I only turned this on for the first time, probably ever, this week! I will log the feedback, otherwise it will be my partially my fault when it's still not working in 2 weeks, thanks for taking the time to confirm.
