Bottom balancing in Word? (typesetting)

Copper Contributor

Hello,

As a typesetter who works in Word, I wonder if it's possible to do bottom balancing in Word? That is to say, if one page happens to be one line shorter than the one next to it, is there a tool in Word allowing you to "stretch" the shorter page so that their bottom lines are evenly aligned?

Thank you very much in advance!

Solution

@fresiegrant On the Layout tab of the Page Setup dialog, set the Page>Vertical alignment to "Justified"

For a page that is one of two lines short, it will probably be OK, but not if the page is many lines short.
