Automatic Numbering in Leve1, Level 2 and Level 3

Hello fellow Word people.  I am working on a sample document where different sections can be included or excluded and I want the document to renumber the section if I take out a section.

1.1.1

1.1.2

1.1.3

I want to take out 1.1.2.  When I take out 1.1.2, 1.1.3 should replace 1.1.2 but it's not.  What am I doing wrong?

When you have the numbering set up in that way, with each level linked to appropriate Style, the numbering will re-adjust as required by the addition, or deletion of paragraphs in the relevant Style.
