Maintenance Time and Active Hours after Patching

Copper Contributor

In an Education environment how can we improve the reboot process after the patch installation when the students are working all day? How could we setup the Windows 10 update ring profile. (check the attached picture)

We are talking about an 100% AADJ environment.

Hi Akos- it looks like your Active Hours start and end at the same time. Can you change the end time to 6:00pm?
Hi like Joe said.. you have your active hours configured to be 6am to 6am.. we would recommend instead setting a 6-18 hour window.. Additionally, you can find more information here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMuDtq95SdKsEc_BmAbvwI5l6RPQ2Y2ak

Hi Aria & Joe

Sure, on the screenshot was a bad example. The start and the end hour shouldn't be the same. It could be a feedback to Microsoft. Because it's a guided scenario via Windows 10 cloud configuration: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/windows/cloud-configuration?rtc=1

Anyway, I will go throw the recommended videos and try to figure out how I could inform and remind the students for a reboot.
Thanks for pointing that out! I'll check with the Cloud config devs on this!
