Windows Server 2019 SYSTEM Process handles in the millions

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I have a Windows server 2019 which has a very ugly issue.

The System allocates amazing amounts of RAM which can't be released again. (28GB)

And it also has a huge amount of handles (over 11 Million)

After checking where it goes, it seems to be all inside paged pool

As you can see here, seems to be a huge amount of Token handlers?

Someone has a good idea how to pin down the issue?
I run out of ideas.

The system is running on VMWare ESXi 6.7

Best Regards

Marcos

It is not easy but maybe you should use process explorer and process monitor to investigate more on this issue.
If possible, perform a Clean Boot and see if the problem persists?

Hello @Reza_Ameri,

The Problem persist on 12 different Machines to be more accurate.

Clean boots did not help.

Do you have access to any Windows 10 or Windows 11 devices?
If yes, open start and search for feedback and open the Feedback Hub app and file a bug report and select Windows Sever. Make sure share steps to reproduce the problem.
In case you have any log files make sure attach them.
