Hi,
I've recently upgraded a member server from windows server 2008 R2 to Windows server 2012 R2 and after the upgrading, I tried to run the windows update but the update wizard keeps on checking for updates from the last 3 days. I've first disabled the WU and background intelligent transfer services and deleted all the files and folders in C:\windows\softwaredistribution folder and then enabled the WU & background intelligent transfer services and run the windows update wizard again and the issue still persists

Might try the latest SSU (Servicing stack update for Windows 8.1, RT 8.1, and Server 2012 R2: October 8, 2019)

The SSU for windows server 2012 R2 has been running since the last 6 hours. Any alternative way to fix this issue ?

Might try rebooting and try downloading again.
or the much cleaner / safer solution is to stand up a new one, patch fully, and migrate the roles or applications over to it.
