Copper Contributor

Dear Community,

Can I block below Network  Ports on Windows Server 2019:

Port 445 - File and printer sharing service.

Port 5985 - Windows Remote Management (WinRM) service.

Port 21 - FTP service.

Port 69 - TFTP service.

Port 161 and 162 - SNMP service.

What happens If I close below Ports on Windows Server 2019 & what services will get affected?

Dave Patrick,
I had already gone through this Microsoft Article but I was not sure about the Impact & so I created this Post on Microsoft Forum. This detailed document doesnot pinpoint the impact that I am talking about. It tells me the Individual Impact only. But my concern is like what If there are dependencies interms of services & what happnes If I close/disable mentioned ports?

We haven't a clue with what you've told us. It depends on what roles and or processes run on your server.
