Forest and functional levels can't be raised anymore, 2016 is the highest level (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-ds/active-directory-functional-levels) If you have Domain Controllers running 2012R2, you should replace those by new ones or do an in-place upgrade of them. If you are adding 2022 Domain Controllers to the domains, you might need to check if sysvol replication is configured for DFSR instead of FRS. (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/storage-at-microsoft/streamlined-migration-of-frs-to-dfsr-sys...)

@Harm_Veenstra sorrry Forest and functional levels is 2012 r2 . I mean is upgrade to 2022 should do that child first or root

Ah  personally, I would start from root and do child domain later. It's all compatible with each other, so it's preference I guess
So I can upgrade child first ? or additional child and root the same time .
You can also upgrade the child first if that's easier for you of course, as long as you have two Domain Controllers in each Domain so that you have a running Active Directory. (You can transfer FSMO roles to the machine that is not being upgraded at that moment and transfer back afterwards)
Did this work out for you?
