System Volume Information size Limit

Copper Contributor

Hi there,

I have a server having only 1 drive of 1TB space out of which 675 GB is filled by System Volume Information already. I want to clear and free up some space for my application to run freely. I googled and found that If I limit the size of shadow copies then I will get lot of space. My worry is, will I  loose anything, means any data loss or OS instability or any thing.

your suggestions are welcome about limiting the size of System volume Information.

Thanks Dave,Surely I will do it, but a quick question please. We have MS exchange hybrid on this server without Mailboxes using only for managing and logs.

At the moment, VSS is set to unlimited, what worst can happen if I reduce to 100-200 GB :)

I'd try asking this one over here in dedicated forums.
