Storage Replica - Read Only

When will we see read-only access to the destination volume in a Storage Replica? Will this integrate with DFS where SMB clients are aware of the read-write and read-only nodes and select the appropriate one (similar to SQL AlwaysOn)?

In RS3 the option to have a mounted R/W snapshot will be possible for backups, reading/copying off files, testing VMs, validating DR plans, validating replication consistency, etc. It is not designed as an "always up" solution though in this first release.
