Setting Group Policies

I am trying to setup Group Policies for some Desktop Shortcuts, Printers, etc. On my Domain Controller in Active Directory, I have an OU for my computers and an OU for my users. Would it be best to link these types of GPOs to the User OU or the Computer OU? Thank you for any help you can provide.

It seems like printers would be more associated to the desktop location in relation to printer location so I'd probably use your computer GPO. Shortcuts may be more associated with the user's roles so may make more sense to use user GPO. In the end though it really depends on site specific requirements.
