Server 2019 supported NICs on a PCI gen 2 bus

Copper Contributor

Hello all, hoping that I can find some ideas from others in a similar spot. And hoping I am posting to the right forum, if not, I sincerely apologize.

I am running a couple pairs of HP Proliant DL380 G6 and G7s, two pair of the G6s and a single pair of G7s.

I am putting Server 2019 onto these, and would ideally like to enable Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) on them, but I am running into issues locating a suitable NIC to cross connect each pair. Because the G6 and G7s have  PCIe 2.0 bus, I am limited with what I can find with 10Gb speed, and I as of yet haven't found a supported card that also is RDMA capable.

Has anyone else had the same challenge, or can anyone make a suggestion that would meet the need I am running into?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Looks like the hardware is too old to support Server 2019. This doesn't mean it can't or won't work but does mean the vetting of all components is left to the end user to do. In the end you'll still have an unsupportable system.
