Copper Contributor

Hi,

OS = Windows Server 2012 R2, Last Windows updates were done for April 2022 updates.

Under Print Management>Print Servers>Servername>Printer

Suddenly printers started missing from print server. This happened for multiple printers but not all printers

Checked the event logs, only error I can see is

Source = Spooler_LPDSVC

Event ID = 4009

"The Line Printer Daemon (LPD) service refused a print job from X.X.X.X for printer \\X.X.X.Y\PrinterName because the specified printer does not exist on this computer. Retry printing from the client using the correct printer name."

Its looks like the drive x64 and x86 printer drive issue could be the reason it may automatically deleted when spooler services restarted or unexpected purge. Please check the Printing registry key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SYSTEM | CurrentControlSet | Control |Print | Printers

@Seshadrr Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have been to location suggested by you. I have about 400 printers listed there. Not sure which exactly registry key I am after
