Hello Guys,
I am new to Server Administration and would like your input. I am migrating a File Server running on 2008 R2 to 2019. The server is used as a file server and a print server. Once I transfer the file shares & permissions and Print drivers and printers to the new Server, I thought to switch the ips and the hostname. My friend suggest switching might cause issues. Please let me know if there would be any issues. Please note that the DC is running on a separate server.
