Do I really need to backup both File Servers?

I have an environment where we have configured two servers with DFS and essentially replicating the data between both servers across two different regions.

Does it make sense for me to run full backups of both servers ?
My logic is that the data is replicated already to another side, in the event of an outage then at least one of the two servers will be online.
In terms of recovery I can always recover the data into one of the existing file servers.
