Questions on Win 10

Copper Contributor

I'm wondering about the autopilot:

1) Does this work with set up school PCs?
2) What happens if you don't have internet access when signing in?
3) Which OEMs support this?

4) can existing devices be added to the autopilot?

5) What are updates like on Win 10 S? Are they faster than Win 10?

Hi Julia,

I am not sure where you got the reference on needing ConfigMgr. Intune Azure Portal can fully manage Windows 10 S devices w/o ConfigMgr.

Sorry, I mean for Win 10 ... Not S. I saw on technet that it is more powerful to use Config manager + Intune. But for 10 S, since it is app based, is Intune sufficient?

For Windows 10 S, Intune is sufficient.

For Windows 10 desktop editions, ConfigMgr does have comprehensive features to support them. And from MDM side, Windows is adding more management features to the MDM channel in each feature update, and Intune is also adding support to those management features.

What does "MDM Channel" mean?

That link didn't work...Do you have a correction?

I installed the script on a test box. What is the command needed to create the actual CSV file?

Install-Script -Name Get-WindowsAutoPilotInfo

Then what?

Get-WindowsAutoPilotInfo.ps1 -OutputFile MyComputer.csv

Sorry, had a trailing blank space in my previous post. Does this work for you now? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/mdm/
