Xbox controller not working since latest canary update

Essentially it's as the title suggests.

 

Unfortunately today I finally got round to installing Win 11 Home Insider Preview Eval Copy Build 25352.zn_release.230422-2250 update, which no longer recognises any Xbox controller.

 

I tried using a third party controller which doesn't work with Windows at all.

 

I've spent 6 hours myself and with support trying to fix the issue but no success.

 

We've tried uninstalling updates (which doesn't seem to uninstall fully), drivers, hard boots, updating again... It's been a long 6 hours, I can't remember the rest.

 

Device manager seems to hang altogether if Xbox controller has been connected at any point, be that uninstalling the driver, or scanning hardware changes.

 

Hopefully, I can help provide more solutions tried, or any further information if needed.

@CBTwizard I am having the exact same problem. Fingers crossed this gets resolved ASAP.

@putnamvondorchester Same here, fortunately, I was able to roll back! I will wait to update until they fix this issue.
