Unable to open Start Menu and settings in Windows 11 after Insider Preview Build Update failed

Copper Contributor

Good evening..

I am currently unable to open the Start menu on my HP Pavilion 15 laptop after Preview Build 25179 failed.  Cortana/search feature doesn't work and none of the Windows Settings will open.

I just finished a LONG Microsoft Support chat session with NO Resolution as NOTHING that was tried (multiple reboots, sfc /scannow, creating a new Windows profile, etc) has worked.

i suspect My laptop now has corrupted system files with no way besides a full "clean" install to correct the issue.

This reminds me of Windows 10 Build 17017 which was also "corrupt" and which bricked an earlier laptop of mine.

I am a Tier 1 tech support agent for a US govt agency so i am NO "newbie' to computers or Windows

Does anyone in the Insider Program have any good VERIFIED" "working" suggestions" to get this fixed?

i can't even get to the Windows Troubleshooters.
