The Widgets and Teams Chat app crashing as soon as I open them [Release preview build (22000.194)]

Copper Contributor

I've upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11 release preview build (22000.194) today.

I'm encountering an issue where the Widgets app is crashing as soon as I open it.

And the Teams Chat app is opening a window to sign-in to teams, and when I sign in, the window closes automatically, and sometimes there are multiple instances of the sign-in windows from the teams app when I click the Chat icon in the taskbar (screenshot attached).

And every time when I restart my system, there're more than 5-7 pop ups from the Teams app to sign-in. And when I sign-in, it again crashes(closes) in few seconds and it behaves in the same way when I open it again.

The multiple instances of the teams app when I click the Teams Chat app more than once, at it doesn't respond.

I've tried uninstalling the Teams app, and the reinstallation happened automatically when I clicked the Chat icon in the taskbar.

I've ran the sfc scan too, it didn't show any problem.

I've almost searched for this problem for more than half a day, but till now I couldn't find any related problems in any of the forums.

Kindly provide me with a solution.

I found the fix. When I disabled my Intel UHD graphics driver the issue was rectified. Now I've installed the beta version of Intel UHD graphics driver which is the only option for me that's compatible with windows 11 for now.

I also have the same problem, when I disabled the intel UHD graphics driver it works. After I restarted the PC the problem started again
Yes, now the final version is released. It worked for me.
Even with the final version I still get that issue when I switch back to the stable release of the intel UHD driver.
Download and run this graphics driver from intel website (30.0.100.9864) it’s the fix for our problem.
I encountered the same problem after trying everything i finally updated graphics drivers. Now it works

I have the same issue. Windows update's driver version (27.20.100.8935) will break the Teams and Widgets. Intel's beta version (30.0.100.9894) fixes the Teams, but Widgets still don't work.
My GPU is Intel UHD 10th generation.
That was the solution that worked for me; but at the time I attempted to download that version, I was advised by Intel that the latest version was now 30.0.100.9955; so I installed it and that seems to have resolved the issue for now. Thanks
For Intel UHD 10th Generation, version (30.0.100.9894) is the latest version.
Thanks for the heads up. I was able to install the other one, but I can go back to the recommended one in case it's more stable. Thanks again 👍🏻
For Intel UHD 10th Generation, version (30.0.100.9894) is a beta. It's not more stable than the suggested version. Version (30.0.100.9955) is not available for Intel UHD 10th Generation, on intel's official website.
What's your GPU?
But I downloaded the latest version for my i7 10750H from intel website.
Can you post a link for Intel UHD 10th Generation, version (30.0.100.9955)?

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/search.html?ws=text#t=Downloads&layout=table&cf:Downloads=[%... it clearly says 6th to 11th generation graphics.

This download installs the Intel® Graphics Driver for Xe Dedicated, 6th-11th Generation Graphics, and Elkhart Lake.

I still have the same issue. Windows update's driver version (27.20.100.8935) will break the Teams and Widgets. Intel's versions (30.0.100.9894) and (30.0.100.9955) fixes the Teams app, but Widgets still don't work.
My GPU is Intel UHD 10th generation.

In my case, I am now able to use Widgets with version 30.0.100.9955; however, I'm experiencing issues with other apps that were not acting up before, like Photos, and Backie. My GPU is Intel UHD 10th generation as well

I'm facing the same problem after installing W11. I cannot open WIDGETS nor TEAMS.

The problem resolved after Microsoft released an update to Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, to version 94.0.992.50.

Widgets do not work in earlier versions of Edge WebView2 Runtime.
