Microsoft Store 'Something happened on our end' when trying to download apps

When trying to download any apps, this error appears on all local accounts. Troubleshooting does not help and I've reinstalled windows as well which did not fix the issue.

Please try to clear the Microsoft Store cache. Type %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Store_*** and press Enter (replace *** with the actual package name).
Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.
A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after a few moments, the Microsoft Store will reset and open automatically.

Ensure you're running the latest version of the Microsoft Store app. You can check for updates by going to Settings > Apps > Microsoft Store.
I had the same issue on my laptop. The problem was fixed after switching to cable connection from WiFi.
I just had the vpn on. Turning it off worked!
