On dev channel and will not find my front camera. Back camera is ok.
Tried reinstalling all drivers.

Is there a problem with the dev build.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you
HI Jason,

Have you tried these steps outlined here? Also it could be that you have turned on the anti-privacy key on your keyboard on some keyboards that turned of the camera.
Dev build is still under development and such issues are common and I advise you to report it using the Feedback Hub app.
Try uninstall your webcam driver and restart your PC and run the Windows Update and see if it is being installed from the Windows Update.
If not, visit your device's manufacturer website and download and install the latest driver.

@Reza_Ameri Thanks for the update. I reinstalled window 10 and same issue and I tried every fix possible. I think I have a hardware fault with my front camera which will need repair.

Hi Jason, can you provide me the computer OEM name you are using and the brand/model name of the camera. thank you

Hi, thanks for you reply and help.. My device is a service pro 6 1TB (1796). Tried all those steps apart from updating bios, does that work on the windows update or do you a program to update the bios? The back camera and front ircamera works it's just the front camera I need for video calling :)

HI Jason!

I see that you have the wonderful surface pro 6 which you can update the firmware using this link,
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=57514.

Kindly restart after the install is over and check if the camera is working.

If it's not working I suggest contacting via chat to the Surface technical team that will help you with your issue as they have always been so nice to fix all my surface issues.

Support.microsoft.com/contactus, make sure you are signed in, type talk to agent, press next then choose Surface, Hardware, Surface Pro. Press chat.

If all fails, I recommend doing a surface firmware recovery as that will completely wipe the computer and reset all the drivers. It's not the same as reinstalling Windows 10 as this may fix up the other issues.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-recovery-image

The first of the two links will provide you details on how to setup the USB then you may download the recovery media from the last one.

Please make sure you follow all the steps properly, also if you are with a agent, they will be able to help you also through this over the phone.

If all else fails, it could be a hardware issue which has to do a replacement which they can help you with if you have warranty or other options.

Hope that helps :)

God bless and have a wonderful day!
