Download Error 0800f0805

Copper Contributor

My PC has stopped downloading Windows 11 updates. The history shows that 23H2 was successfully installed on 8/11/2023 although Settings/System/ About states that the pc is still at Version 22H2, OS Build 22621.3527.  Updates have been successfully installed in 2024 up until "2024-04 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 2H2". Since then the Automatic Updates have failed to download providing the error code 0800f0805.

I encouter the same issue since I try to install Insider Preview (10.0.26120.1843) (KB5043185)
How can we resolve this issue. Technical support at Microsoft haven't been able to resolve it.

Hi pacotnoir2415

I'm glad that I am not the only one suffering from this problem although I am missing the normal monthly updates to Windows 11 rather than the Insider Program updates. Being new to this community I managed to post my problem into the wrong area.  It is not very comforting to learn that Tech Support have not been able to help.   I suspect that I will have to try a clean install to resolve my problem but perhaps one of the tech gurus will take pity on us.

@NigelB1875 I've passed the entire day with Microsoft tech support without success, so I'm sucked with an intermediate version...

Not very encouraging. My PC is working OK otherwise but I am concerned at the messages warning of a lack of support to 22H2 after 8th October. I tack it that you have not tried re-installing the Operating System.
Hi pacotnoir2415
I am afraid that I decided to bite the bullet and reinstalled Windows from a Recovery Drive that I had created some time ago. It was Version 21H2 unfortunately so there was a painful update process to get it back to Version 23H2 but at least the update process worked. I also had to recover my files from a backup on the Norton's cloud which was also painful, the saga being on the Norton Community if you are interested. In view of the lack of support from the Tech Community, a clean install of Windows seems to be the only option to resolve problems. Good luck.
For my part, after having requested support from 4 tech of MS without success. I've used the recuperation process in the settings of Windows 11... and it works.
Glad to hear that you have resolved your problem.
