We are pleased to share with our partners that we have been able to automate the fast track submission process for Windows 8.1 to Windows 8 as described in
this blog entry
. With this change, we are also retiring errata 2656, effective May 1, 2015. The automation will enforce based off of the product types listed in the blog article referenced earlier.
You will only need to follow these three steps:

Using the Windows HCK for Windows 8.1, create a Windows 8.1 project, and run the full certification suite of tests.

Using the Windows HCK for Windows 8.1, create a Windows 8 project and run only the Device.DevFund INF test.

Package the results of the projects for submission uploading by using the Windows HCK for Windows 8.1.
