Does taskbar layout XML support Desktop Application ID?

The Docs article, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/configure-windows-10-taskbar, indicates "you specify apps using the Application User Model ID (AUMID) or Desktop Application Link Path (the local path to the application)." No mention of Desktop Application ID.

 

But, in Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909, using Desktop Application ID to pin to taskbar does appear to work.
