Task scheduler & wake up from sleep mode problem

Copper Contributor

Hi,

i have a machine with windows server 2016.

I'm trying to configure the system to send it in sleep mode everyday at 20:00, and to resume it from sleep at 7:00 o'clock of the next day.

In order to reach this, i've enabled the sleep mode via Powrcfg, and after i've created two simple batch file that do requested operations.

Despite the scheduled task that set the system in sleep mode works well, the other task that resume it seems not to be working correctly.

I set it to be executed independently of the user logging and with elevated privileges, and i also set the flag on "wake up system to execute the task", but it isn't work. The system won't power up.

I noticed in system event logger that system clock, when in sleep mode, isn't refreshed until the next wake up (in fact the first event logged after wake is

system time changed from ‎2020‎-‎12‎-‎30T19:00:18.083452900Z to ‎2021‎-‎01‎-‎04T08:00:30.500000000Z.

Reason: system time syncronized with hardware clock.)

Can be this the reason of the problem?

In general is there a way to make it working?

Thank you.
