Disk Management extended volume over active volume

Copper Contributor

I had external Disk (2TB)  with 4 partitions approx 250GB (used by Mac) 450GB Not used first voluime(E) had about 450Gb and partition (F) had about 500GB. Both NTFS and had DATA(E) and Pictures (F)  on these 2 volumes.

When I extended E (first partition) to get additions space from partition 450GB unallocated which is before this partition.  Document says it will not allow it and it will also will not extend unless there is unallocated space after current partition  (E). But some reason it extended and made 3rd partition combining partition 3 and 4 (even though partition 4 is active at the time).  So now it shows last partition with E.  (MAC-VASANT)

I can see all files those were in E (same as before). But files of F can not be seen on disk.

Questions

(1) Why did it extend over active partition which is allocated?

(2) Can I undo the extend operation?

(3) How canI see files of F (Prictures) partition (They are on disk but I can't see it as I didnot delte anyting.)  I have all pictures backup on this partition.

ANY HELP or SUGGESTIONS will be appreciated..

Here is output from diskpart (after extend).

Found out that partitions on disks are intact as before - when I connected to MacBook. So I am going to copy- backup all data on new external drive and repartition current drive.
