I recently acquired a Dell Latitude 3310 laptop for my severe weather chase team and ham radio activities. Coming from being primarily an Apple user since the release of Windows Vista, I never anticipated being impressed by any Windows version after the challenging experience with Vista. Surprisingly, after using the Dell laptop with Windows 11 Pro for a day and a half, I must admit that I am genuinely impressed with how well it functions.
Upon receiving the laptop, it had version 21H2 installed, and it suggested updating to version 22H2. I half-expected the update process to be disruptive, typical of past Windows experiences. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the update was completed and the system politely asked to schedule a restart for installation without interruption. Even during the installation process, which I anticipated to be complex and potentially problematic, everything proceeded smoothly and efficiently. When I resumed using the laptop in the evening, it performed flawlessly.
While it is still early to make a definitive assessment, my initial impression is that Microsoft may have indeed improved and created an operating system that functions seamlessly. Thus far, I am quite satisfied with Windows 11 Pro.
