As shown in the screenshot, the icons of open programs are missing. I've read about issues like this in the insider builds, I assumed it should have been fixed by now in the consumer builds. I'm running Windows 11, 21H2 22000.434. The display is a 4K LG TV with HDR.
The issue could be related to HDR? If I turn off HDR, the icons come back. Turning on HDR again doesn't seem to take them away, but, when the displays go to sleep and come back, the icons are gone again most of the time.
I have the NVIDIA GPU drivers v511.23, the issue persisted with the last set of drivers. All other drivers are the latest available. The issue was there ever since I installed Windows 11.
